QUIT SMOKING TIPS:

1. Acknowledge your quit date and start to mentally prepare yourself.

2. Dispose of all smoking material.

3. Clean your car and home.

4. Wash and/or dry-clean all of your clothes.

5. Tell people that you have quit smoking.

6. Incorporate physical activity into your daily schedule.

7. Drink plenty of water, juices, and herbal teas.

8. Tell yourself that you will follow the FinalStep program "just for today," worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

9. Start to change your behavior on DAY ONE. Change the locations where you usually smoke and your routine between each cigarette award.

10. Be aware of what triggers the urge for a cigarette.

11. Do not watch other people who are smoking, ignore their habits.

12. Avoid smoking areas when you are not smoking.

13. Carry and use mints or chewing gum when urges persist.
